Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV)

Established in 1983, the purpose of Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (University for Women) is to empower women through knowledge and skill upgradation among others. The courses are designed in such a way as to ensure employability  for women along with skill and knowledge enhancement. The University continuously strives to undertake research, training and consultancy services with local and regional communities.

Vision: To be a premier centre of education, both general and professional, for women to acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes required to lead life as complete citizens and pursue careers of their choice.

Mission: Emancipation of Women through acquisition of knowledge and Empowerment through skill up-gradation, involvement and participation in various occupations in the society, towards the end of establishing a progressive egalitarian society.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam 

Undergraduate courses:

The women candidates, who have qualified in 10+ 2 years of formal education or its equivalent examination recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are eligible for admission into relevant Under Graduate/ Bachelor’s Degree programme offered by SPMVV on or off campus.

The international students are exempted from all forms of Entrance Tests for getting admission into various courses.

Postgraduate courses:

International women students who have obtained their Bachelor’s degree in any country in the concerned or allied subject (s) or its equivalent recognized by Association of Indian Universities are eligible for admission into the Post Graduate Courses directly with/ without a common Entrance Test conducted either by State or University in Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam.

The international students are exempted from all forms of Entrance Tests for getting admission into various courses.

MPhil/ Ph.D. programmes:

The women candidates should have passed Masters Degree examination in the concerned subject (with 50 percent marks for Social Sciences and Humanities and 55 percent marks for Sciences or obtained equivalent Grades) or its equivalent recognized by Association of Indian Universities.

Only those students who have qualified from foreign Universities or Boards of Higher Education, recognized as equivalent by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) are eligible for admission. When required, reference will be made to AIU to check the equivalence.

Certificate/ Diploma programmes:

The University has designed/ proposes to design Certificate (3 months) and Diploma (6 months) courses to suit the needs of Foreign and Non Resident Indians in the fields of Music, Yoga, Meditation, Spirituality, Food and Nutrition, Family Studies, Child Development, Social Work, Telugu, Mathematics, Education etc. Eligibility for these courses is 10 years of formal school education and English proficiency.
