APRCET: Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Test

The APRCET: Andhra Pradesh Research Common Entrance Testis conducted by Andhra University for admission into M.Phil & Ph.D Courses in various discipline. Candidates having PG Degree in Science, Arts, Law, Pharmacy & Engineering Courses are eligible to appear for APRCET.

APRCET Eligibility Criteria

Full-Time M. Phil. / PhD Program:
  1. Postgraduate degree holders with at least 55% of marks (50% in the case of SC/ST Candidates) or equivalent CGPA in the concerned subject or in an allied subject or any other PG Degree recognised by the University as equivalent thereto prescribed in eligibility criteria can apply.  
Part-Time M. Phil/PhD Program:
  1. In-Service candidates satisfying the above eligibility conditions can apply for part-time. Admission into part-time programmes will be made by preparing merit order by considering rank and service weightage.

APRCET Syllabus

For all Science subjects:
There will be 20 multiple questions and each question will carry one mark.
  1. General Science,
  2. Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis
  3. Research Aptitude.
For all Arts Programmes:
There will be 20 multiple questions and each question will carry one mark.
  1. Research Aptitude
  2. Reasoning (Including Mathematical)
  3. Logical Reasoning
  4. Data Interpretation
For all Engineering and Pharmacy subjects:
There will be 20 multiple questions and each question will carry one mark.
  1. Research Preparation and Planning
  2. Research Resources
  3. Academic Writing & Presentation
  4. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
For all LAW programmes:
There will be 20 multiple questions and each question will carry one mark.
  1. Research Aptitude
  2. Reasoning (Including Mathematical)
  3. Logical Reasoning
  4. Data Interpretation

APRCET Exam Pattern:

  1. APRCET for each subject/dept. consists of one paper with multiple-choice objective type questions including oral exam; this Paper contains 20 questions in Research Methodology with 20 marks, 70 questions in concerned subject with 70 marks.

  2. After the written exam there is an oral exam for 10 marks will be conducted in Departments by the concerned DRC.

APRCET Admission Procedure

For M. Phil. & PhD (Full-Time):

a) 80% of the seats with APRCET rank for Arts & Science courses and 100% each for Engineering, Pharmacy and Law courses.

b) 20% of the seats in Arts & Science courses, to be filled by the candidates having MPhil Degree, UGC-CSIR NET/ICMR (Lecturer ship), APSET in the subject concerned with a APRCET Rank.

M. Phil. (Part-Time):  
Admission into part-time programmes will be made on the basis of APRCET Rank and weightage obtained in the service. In the respective category in the following order of priority.

a) Teachers working in the University or the AUPG Centers.

b) Teachers working in Post graduate and professional colleges.

PhD (Part-Time):
Admission into part-time PhD will be made on the basis of APRCET Rank in the respective categories. The final ranking of APRCET will be evaluated based on the marks obtained in the written test and service weight age.

(a) Regular Faculty working in the University or the A.U. P.G. Centers.

(b) (i) Faculty working in Post graduate and Professional colleges having completed a minimum service of two years.

(ii) Faculty/Librarians/Asst. Librarians working in affiliated degree /PG colleges and Faculty teaching physics, chemistry, mathematics and humanities in professional colleges, having completed a minimum service of three years.
